Riding School Membership Program

All lessons at Shenanigans Farm are offered through a monthly membership model, designed to provide consistency, progression, and a reserved lesson time for each student. Whether you're just starting out, returning to riding, or preparing to jump courses, our structured program supports riders every step of the way.

Each lesson type—private, group, leadline, or adult—is incorporated into one of the membership options below. Riders are enrolled based on their current level and goals, and our instructors will help place each student in the program that best suits their needs.

    Arrive Early

Riders must arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled lesson time to tack up and prepare their horse. This is part of the learning experience—understanding how to properly groom and prepare a horse is just as important as riding. Your instructor will greet you or someone will direct you upon arriving.

After the lesson, riders are expected to untack and care for their horse under the guidance of their instructor or helper.
We provide grooming supplies, but riders are welcome to bring their own brushes if they prefer.

    Dress Code

Safety comes first. Riders must wear:

    • An ASTM/SEI-certified horseback riding helmet (bike/motocross helmets are not permitted)

    • Hard-soled boots with a heel

    • Weather-appropriate, barn-safe clothing pants, and shirts with sleeve (no skirts, tank tops, sandals, or dangling items)

We recommend shopping at Covered Wagon or Everything Equine in Oxford for proper riding gear.

Parents and siblings must wear closed-toed shoes in the barn. Flip-flops are not allowed near horses due to safety concerns.

    Respect the Space

    • Riders and guests are expected to clean up after themselves and treat horses, staff, and fellow riders with kindness and respect.

    • Please do not approach horses or walk the property without speaking to a staff member.

    • Avoid loud voices, umbrellas, and sudden movements—remember, horses are animals and can be startled easily.

    • Feeding any animals is not permitted unless approved by your instructor.

If siblings attend the lesson, they must remain with an adult at all times.

    Trainer Communication

We encourage parents to observe lessons—however, sideline coaching is not permitted. Our instructors are professionals and work hard to maintain structure and safety.

If you have a concern or question, please speak directly with Mary or Ricci after the lesson or contact us privately.

    • Lesson Updates
We communicate via text with your trainer & the Shenanigans Farm facebook page. For cancellations please contact your instructor directly.

    • Questions or Concerns
Please bring up any rider-specific concerns with your instructor after the lesson or via email—never during ride time.
